Welsh Presbyterian Church

Present

Merseyside Buildings Preservation Trust acquired the Welsh Presbyterian Church in 2010 and has worked to safeguard the building by reinstating perimeter fencing and completing site works to improve the appearance of the site.

For many years, due to the neglect of previous owners, the building has been considered a heritage building at risk due to vandalism and weather damage. It was in a parlous state, however the Trust worked alongside KIND to develop proposals to bring the building back into use as an innovative educational centre and thriving community hub. Regrettably KINDs bid for Levelling Up Fund investment into the project was not supported and sadly the project had to be abandoned. The site has been acquired by Audsley Holdings Limited in summer 2022, who are a locally based organisation and are currently developing proposals to secure the long-term future of this historic site.
