The Trust has also been involved in facilitating a number of urban heritage regeneration projects. In the 1990s the Trust completed feasibility studies for the redevelopment of a historic property in the Mount Pleasant area of Liverpool city centre. This feasibility work acted as the pre-cursor to a private sector development partner obtaining a development grant to enable the property to be brought back into active use.
Similarly, the Trust completed feasibility studies in relation to a historic property in Shaw Street that ultimately led to the obtaining of grant funding, needed to bridge the conservation deficit, enabling delivery by a housing association, bringing the property back into active use.
The Trust’s role in completing feasibility work at Mount Pleasant and Shaw Street was integral to successful project delivery as it facilitated the receipt of grant funding ensuring that these historic properties were brought back into long-term sustainable use.
